Scientific Name:   Asimina triloba


Sweet, edible fruit but mildly toxic seeds with insecticidal properties. Rusty-brown terminal buds, shaped like an artist's paint brush. Perfect flowers (male and female parts in same flower) slightly fetid. Sole larval food source for Zebra Swallowtail butterflies.
